Last Daughter of Krypton

What’s Coming for Supergirl: Red Daughter of Krypton

Not only is Supergirl going to be part of 2 Annuals in the next few months (World’s Finest Annual # 1 – Jan 29/ Batman/Superman Annual # 1 – Feb 26), but she’ll be getting a pretty cool ring in the “Red Daughter of Krypton” storyline. The story revolves around Kara’s rage and anger at all the problems she’s suffered since emerging from her pod in issue # 1. Unlike the Green power ring, the Red Lantern power ring works off of rage, and seeks Kara.

Below are the books (release dates and solicits thus far) that will be released, in order, surrounding the storyline. The story will progress primarily through the monthly Supergirl books, but will also span and include the Red Lantern books as well. Between the Annuals mentioned above, and Supergirl joining Justice League United in April, we will be seeing a lot more of Supergirl this Spring. Hopefully, DC Comics will leave H’El out of her story this time around.

Supergirl Upcoming Annuals

Supergirl Appearing in Annuals

If your like me, you know that to much Supergirl in one month is never a bad thing. We know that starting in April, Supergirl will be a part of, and appearing in, Justice League United, the new monthly comic book replacing Justice League of America. Fortunately, DC Comics not only gave us Kara in the upcoming JLU book, but also gave us more of her in the upcoming issue of World’s Finest Annual # 1, on sale this Wednesday Jan 29th.

As mentioned in my Superboy # 6 preview, this was the first Superboy issue I’ve read since The New 52 started back in September. I was wonderfully surprised at the compelling story, and how easily it was to jump into this issue and continue with the story without knowing the events that transpired before.
